2022 Symposium






19thCentury Dining

A late-17th century table-setting such as might have been seen in the parlour of a wealthy and fashionable merchant, displaying turned and carved wooden chairs, wine served in glasses and knives and forks provided for all the diners (Picture ┬ęPeter Brears)

The Symposium was started in 1986 by a group of like minded food historians and has continued annually until the present date.
